Blog Envy

Portrait of Letting Go, Writing, Blogging

It just doesn't matter! It just doesn't matter! It just doesn't matter!

There I feel better now that I've got my priorities straight and know that it doesn't really matter how many people read, or comment, or link to me ! What matters is that I'm true to myself and the vision God has given me!

And anyway all my creative genius is tied up in a mystery novella because I'M WRITING AGAIN!

Still it's my birthday month and all I wanted was [slap] okay, I think I'll stop now!

I get that feeling a lot when I compare my blog to other blogs - which is the recipe for unhappiness in any area of my life. Sometimes, what you need to write is just going to reach a smaller audience - but that doesn't mean that it's less meaningful or not as good.
Congratulations on writing again! I hope some of that rubs off on me.

OK, I am lame...I've been kinda on blog hiatus and my reading has been sketchy, so I missed the vital introductory post to your birthday month. I will repent and make it up to you.

I come back to your blog because you are real, because you share experience and insight, and because I like the homeschooling perspective - especially because you are real, and you discuss the real struggles with the process, and because you make me feel like I could give it a shot and maybe even make it work. And I admire your writing pursuits - I dream of writing for real but I'm lazy/busy but most of all not gutsy enough to put something out there for publishing/editing/rejection. You are my hero in that regard.

I'll keep up with you better for the rest of the month! :)

That is too funny, Gina. I love your blog. :)

Be encouraged. Beck's right that the blog competition/comparisons can be frustrating, but if you just write for you, and those who read, you'll keep at it.

Congrats on your new novella endeavor.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and I might give everyone a sneak peek at the novella opening!
